نویسندگان
چکیده
Aim: The aim of this study is to determine the effects boiled Bryophyllum pinnatum leaves on serum liver enzymes after administration alcohol-induced damage in Albino Wistar rats.
 Study Design: Experimental.
Place and Duration Study: Department Biochemistry, University Calabar (from June August, 2021).
Methodology: Fresh collected were washed thoroughly with clean water allowed dry at room temperature for 2 hours. 100oC obtain a extract from fresh leaves. Alcohol leaf administered orally period one week each. rats group 3 induced sub-chronic using commonly available alcoholic beverage, blended whiskey dose 1.5 ml per body weight while given extracts week. At end two weeks treatment period, weighed sacrificed their blood analysis (liver function test).
Results: animals alcohol suffered mild hepatic damage. negative control which was only alcohol, had an increase ALT when compared normal control. treated decrease ALT, AST ALP levels This suggests that contain pharmacologically active compounds can reduce damage.
Conclusion Recommendations: results show minimal anti-hepatotoxic activities leaves; could be said prevent by toxicity. Further area pharmacology required order establish natural product as agent.

Structural study of mucilage from the leaves of Bryophyllum pinnatum
A neutral polysaccharide (yield 0.5%) has been extracted and isolated from the leaves of Bryophyllum pinnatum with 1% Acetic acid consisting of D-Galactose and L-arabinose in the Molar ratio of 2:4:1, Systematic chemical and spectral analysis for structural elucidation of the mucilage showed that it may be designated as "Arabinogalactan"

The alcoholic extract of Guazuma ulmifolia was evaluated for their wound healing activity in Albino Wistar rats using chemically induced wound model. The experimental animals were chemically burned by conc HCL (80%), and then divided into four groups, control, standard (Nitrofurazone 0.2% w/w), low dose (125 mg/kg) and high dose (250mg/kg). The reepithelialization was evaluated by the reducing ...
متن کاملThe Effect of Crude Methanolic Leaf Extract of Bryophyllum pinnatum on Some Haematological Parameters in Wistar Rats
Bryophyllum pinnatum (B. pinnatum) is a perennial herb growing widely and used in folkloric medicine. Much research work has not been carried out on its effect on hematological parameters. We therefore decided to investigate the effect of crude methanolic leaf extract of B. pinnatum on some hematological parameters in Wistar rats. Twenty (20) male Wistar rats aged 2 to 3 months obtained from th...
